Q. When should I get in touch - what's your waiting time?

This varies depending on the time of year, but generally it's a few months. Christmas is particularly busy so please get in touch as early as you can! However, many customers ask for portraits to be completed faster than this for a particular occasion, in which case I do my best to fit them in if it's possible. It's always worth asking! As drawings are faster to complete than paintings, these are a better option if you've left it a bit late. You could also consider giving a portrait gift voucher if time has run out.

Q. Will I be able to see the portrait before it's finished?

Yes I always provide this opportunity. When we've spoken about what you would like your portrait to be like I will start work on it, and when it's almost finished I'll send you a photo of it by email, or mail to check. You can give me any suggestions or criticisms that you like! I don't consider it to be finished until you are happy with it.

Q. What are the costs involved?

There are two costs - the portrait price, which includes any canvas type of your choice, and postage by Special Delivery. You'll find all the information on the prices page.

Q. What are the possible payment methods?

You can pay by credit card online, using the Paypal  button on my prices page. This allows you to pay via a Paypal account or using any major credit card - you don't need a Paypal account for this but they handle the transaction securely.

You can also pay by personal cheque or internet bank transfer and if you choose either of these two methods I can give you a 5% discount on the price of your portrait.

Q. Do you take commissions from abroad?

Yes, as I work from photos I can send portraits out to just about anywhere! I send out international commissions by insured airmail (if you prefer you can choose a courier delivery instead).

Q. Do you give discounts for orders of more than one portrait?

Unfortunately I can't give discounts for multiple orders, unless the order is extremely large. The reason is that I price my portraits on an estimation of how long they will take me to complete, and I never like to rush a portrait and send something out to you which isn't my best work.
